Bloodstained series director Shutaro Iida dies at age 52 after 1.5 year battle with cancer

In the past, he was one of the programmers of various Castlevania titles, such as Aria of Sorrow, Lament of Innocence and Dawn of Sorrow, and was also the main programmer of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

Together with Koji Igarashi, he worked on the spiritual successor to Castlevania - Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, where he acted as a game designer.He served as director on the sequel, but passed away during the final stages of development.
