Epic Games intends to bring its store to the next generation of Xbox

Ambitions for the platform are getting bolder, with the company saying it is “in talks with Microsoft.”

With recent store growth and a renewed commitment to openness, Epic Games sees an opportunity to get into the console market.

The platform said it is seeing "major growth" and Microsoft's shift in strategy for third-party stores could make this a defining moment for it.

“By ‘planning’ I mean immediately upon release.We will probably be required to prepare software to meet their [Microsoft] requirements,” said Epic Games head Steve Ellison.

Earlier, journalists admitted that the next Microsoft gaming devices will run on Windows, thereby making the new Xbox a more open platform. #game #Strategy
