G.Skill has agreed to a $2.4 million settlement in a class action lawsuit over RAM advertising.
Customers claimed that the company made it appear as if the stated frequencies of DDR4 above 2133 MHz and DDR5 above 4800 MHz work out of the box, when in practice this requires XMP/EXPO and a compatible system.
G.Skill did not admit guilt and made a payment so as not to delay the trial.
