Mike Straw of Insider Gaming clarified some details regarding the information he received about Half-Life 3:

• Half-Life 3 will be announced this year, but the date has not yet been confirmed through several sources.

• Announcement date is not The Game Awards, but it is possible that further details will be revealed at the TGA (implying the announcement will take place before the TGA on December 11th).

• Valve has a practice of using “canary traps” - giving out different dates to find out who is leaking information.This was the case with Half-Life: Alyx.Therefore, Straw must ensure that his date is not a "trap" before revealing it.

• Half-Life 3 will be released on the Steam Machine.
