A promising, musical, brutal drama: the first preview of Stranger Than Heaven
Critics praise the plot, although they note that it is not far from the Yakuza canon it is the same story about a criminal element who is trying to start a new life and find his place in the world.
Also praised are the atmospheric Japanese cities of various historical periods, the musical accompaniment, cinematography and epicity of some episodes.
In addition to the overall soundtrack, licensed compositions and the ability to upload their own tracks are praised for allowing Makoto to beat opponents to a full album of AI remixes HorseVoz.
The combat, however, is scorned or treated with restraint. RGG has made many QoL improvements to it after summer demonstrations, but it still often turns out to be awkward or poorly controlled, which makes clashes with some enemies a real test of the player's endurance.
Stranger Than Heaven is out on January 15 on
#PS5 and other platforms.
