CD Projekt Red has stated that the Songs of the Past expansion should ultimately complete The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Head of Fools Theory and game director of the add-on, Jacob Rokosh, said the team had long wanted to show Lutyka not just as a comedic character, but as a much deeper and smarter person a former Oxenforth Academy professor, poet, and to tell about his family, past and place of his upbringing.

In Songs of the Past, Geralt travels to Lethen, the birthplace of Lutyka, and finds himself drawn into a new supernatural story.

The developers emphasize that the expansion was not intended to be just a bridge to The Witcher 4. According to senior quest designer Despicable Anetachi, the team had a feeling that a single chapter was missing in Wild Hunt, and Lutyka's story was just about to fill it.

While the add-on was created, the authors reverted to the original books by Andrzej Sapkovsky, while CDPR declined to say whether Songs of the Past would be directly related to The Witcher 4.

Songs of the Past will be released in 2027, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered is scheduled for September 29. #game
