☝🏻China has created the world's most powerful supercomputer - LineShine

The machine showed 2,198 exaflops in double precision calculations (FP64) and took first place in the ranking of the most powerful supercomputers in the world, pushing the American El Capitan to second place.

This means that it is capable of performing approximately 2.2x10^18 number operations per second.🚀

LineShine is built entirely on LX2 processors, without GPU accelerators - these are 304-core chips on the Armv9 architecture with a frequency of 1.55 GHz.

In total, the system combines 13.79 million cores.💻

The nodes are interconnected by a proprietary LingQi interconnect.The machine is operated by the National Supercomputing Center in Shenzhen. All electronics and components are made in China.

Energy consumption is 42.2 MW with an energy efficiency of 52.07 gigaflops per watt.🔋

But LineShine's complete dominance is not absolute: in another type of task, where combinations of very fast but less accurate calculations are used, El Capitan is still better. #game
