Enthusiasts have restored an early version of the Not a Hero add-on for Resident Evil 7, dated March 2017.

This cancelled version from HexaDrive was noticeably different from the final release, especially in terms of plot:

Chris Redfield was capturing Lucas Baker alive to question him about the crime syndicate The Connections, instead of fighting his mutant form.

Chris was able to save all three of his unit from the deadly traps.

The mechanics of an explosive wristband with a timer were completely absent.

The final boss was mutant researcher Alan, not Lucas Baker.

Thus, the original version of Not a Hero offered a completely different plot. #game
