💿 Game developers are not against giving up discs - this way they will get more money
Marek Tyminski from CI Games (they make Lords of the Fallen) admitted this.He gave calculations:
• From the sale of a physical copy for $70, approximately $30 goes to the developer: production of the media costs $10, up to 35% is taken by the platform holder, and up to 20% by retailers.
• From the sale of a digital copy for $70, approximately $50 goes to the developer: up to 35% is taken by the store (platform holder).
Games under $70 make even less money because the cost of the media is fixed.
