Nintendeal has partially denied the claims of analyst David Gibson. It turns out that Macronix was one of three cartridges suppliers only for the original Switch. One of the reasons for leaving the market was the displacement of competitors. Macronix simply couldn't win contracts to produce cartridges for the Switch 2 (they were supplied by Nintendo Rohm and another unnamed company). #game
