Nintendo has admitted that it has underestimated the demand for a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Switch 2.
According to Nintendo's Latin America vice president, Bill van Zill, interest in the game has exceeded the company's expectations.
It's a global phenomenon, and we're facing this problem pretty much everywhere, and we've underestimated how well it's going to be taken.
Because of the hype, pre-orders in some countries reached a limit, and Zelda's 40th anniversary merchandise was quickly sold out.
Nintendo is already working on new deliveries of the game, a special version of the Switch 2 and a themed Pro Controller.
The company apologized for the shortfall and asked fans to be patient.
The remake will be released on November 5, 2026.
