Nintendo Switch 2 was hacked for the first time, and artificial intelligence was a big part of finding vulnerabilities.

Researcher Sammy Hajkamid has introduced ns2jb software exploit that works even on the current firmware 23.0.1. No modchips and hardware modifications are required.

OpenAI Codex was used in the development, which helped to detect several vulnerabilities, resulting in the ability to run third-party code, modify games, create backup backups, and work with console system components.

For the demonstration, the researcher modified the exclusive Mario Kart World, adding Hatsune Miku, Peter Griffin, Sinamarolla, and other characters.

But there's a caveat: the hack isn't permanent yet, and it's not even a full-fledged custom firmware like Atmosphère, but it's a big step toward a full-fledged homebrew on the Switch 2.

The exploit's source code is already "published on GitLab", and the story itself still requires further verification. #game
