Rockstar has revealed how far the company has gone to protect GTA 6 from leaks, and the studio has even been forced to cover its office windows with security footage after strangers used drones to take photos through the windows.

The company claims that 34 people 31 in the UK and three in Canada were fired for passing confidential information about GTA 6 to Discord, not because of trade union activity, as IWGB claims.

According to Rockstar, the correspondence discussed the features of GTA 6, the state of development, release dates, and internal IT security protocols, and the company believes that the publication of such information could become a major news story and even affect the price of Take-Two shares.

Rockstar compares the GTA 6 security to how Apple protects iPhone information, and Coca-Cola's formula.

Among the measures in force:

all office visitors sign NDAs; contractors inside the buildings are escorted by security; remote work of employees is severely restricted; flashcards and external drives are prohibited; workplace photography is prohibited; personal laptops, tablets, and phones cannot connect to Rockstar systems; employees are prohibited from disclosing confidential information even to family members; a separate team of five staff investigators and the head is looking for potential leaks.

Rockstar also said that employees are regularly targeted by phishing and social engineering. It was through phishing in 2022 that a hacker gained access to an employee's computer and Slack's internal Slack, after which dozens of early GTA 6 videos went online.

The company claims that in recent weeks it has also been blackmailed by a hacker group.

Interest in GTA 6 has grown to the point that fans have been tracking employees' coffee trips, pizza deliveries to the office, and even the volume of traffic near the Rockstar buildings, trying to guess the timing of announcements and releases.

The dismissal hearing will last until October 16th. The employees are demanding recoveries or compensation and the dismissals are unfair. Rockstar denies all charges and insists that the dismissals were solely related to the disclosure of confidential information. #game
