Rumor: Sony is preparing a new Killzone
According to MP1st, Guerrilla Games has secured support from a third-party studio not part of the PlayStation Studios conglomerate.
According to preliminary data, they are preparing a remaster or remake of a classic game. It is not yet known which part of the series will be the basis.
It is noted that the full production of the project by Guerrilla Games will begin after the release of Horizon Hunter's Gathering, and part of the team will be involved in its creation. However, after a recent report about the restart of the development of the game-service due to negative feedback received during closed testing, the priority for the studio has been to correct errors in the game being prepared.
Guerrilla Games has dropped all efforts on Horizon Hunter's Gathering and will return to work on Killzone after the end of the game-service. As for the full third part of the adventure action, the hypothetical Horizon 3 will be released after the Killzone project, which is now in very early development.
Among the possible studio partners to develop Killzone is People Can Fly, which in March 2025 signed an agreement to co-create the game under the code name Delta, based on the existing PlayStation intellectual property.
