Project creator Harry Newman has announced that s&box will move to a free-to-play model by the end of the year. Customers will get exclusive Steam items, and those who paid $20 instead of $10 will get extra bonuses.

What's normal and what we've heard from the community is that Facepunch is finally giving up the sausage model. I wish I had a clue, but the community is terrified of the developers for this version of the mascot and the character!

The designers admit that the project didn't become as popular as they expected, and now they plan to focus on the game itself by adding more NPC, transportation and modem support at the Garrys Mod level.
