The Wrap reported that it was Sony that won the fight for the rights to adapt the shooter among competitors such as Warner Bros. Discovery, Universal, Netflix and Amazon MGM Studios.

The screenplay and co-director will be Christopher McCurry (Mission Unfulfilled: Final Payment, Jack Richer).

Produced by Michael B. Jordan, the lead actor of last year's critically acclaimed "The Sinners".
