Ubisoft may make remakes a key part of its strategy following the success of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced.
The company's chief financial officer, Frederic Duguay, said that remakes can generate higher profits than completely new projects.According to him, such games require less development and marketing costs, allow the use of existing materials, and the recognition of the original and nostalgia help attract audiences.
Actually, the company now intends to more actively develop the direction of remakes. One of the next projects will presumably be an updated version of the first Assassin's Creed.Previously, the head of the company, Yves Guillemot, already said that Ubisoft plans to release games in the series more often, alternating completely new parts with reimagined versions of classic projects.
