A remaster of Dragon Age is still possible, says the co-founder of BioWare.
Trent Oster spoke about the technical feasibility of re-publishing the original trilogy, prompting a discussion in the community sparked by the words of fellow BioWare veteran Mark Darra, executive producer of the first three installments.
Darra had previously stated that such a re-issue was almost unrealistic, since there were almost no specialists left in modern BioWare who were familiar with the series engines.
Oster disagreed with such a pessimistic assessment. I think it's possible, but it's not easy, he wrote. Origins, the developer noted, was released on a hybrid version of the Aurora and Eclipse engines, so recreating such an architecture would require serious efforts.
