Journalists have praised Steam Frame, but it's not without its faults.

The main advantages: Wireless streaming with a PC works almost without delay and noticeable artifacts. Tracking of controllers is accurate and stable. The helmet is light (about 400 g), the weight is balanced between the front part and the battery block at the back. SteamOS combines VR and regular games in one interface, and some games can be run directly on the helmet without a PC.

Among the drawbacks noted: Battery time for offline launch of games is about an hour. PC Gamer measured exactly: 63 minutes in Alyx on the internal chip and 114 minutes in streaming mode. Charging from zero takes about two hours. Image quality does not exceed Meta Quest 3, which is much cheaper. Scratch cameras are black and white, while the Quest 3 are colored. Full-color camera Arcturus Vision is sold separately for $149. Compatibility with offline games is limited, and some projects often work with low frames, while the Deck delivers at least 60 FPS. Tracking hands are missing, but it is added later. Controls on Steam Vision are considered to be uncomfortable, so it's almost mandatory for active players and journalists to collect additional active actors.

The main question is price. $1059 for the base version with 256GB, which is twice as expensive as Quest 3.
