Media: Uncharted 5 is in development

Naughty Dog is developing a new Uncharted, which will be the studio's next major release after Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

The development is led by Sean Eskeig, who led the creation of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. He previously left Naughty Dog to work on Marvel's Avengers at Crystal Dynamics, and then returned to the studio.

The new game is expected to feature Nathan Drake, but sources have not specified whether he will become the protagonist or a supporting role.

In Uncharted 4, she discovers objects from her parents' past adventures, after which Drake decides to tell her about their lives.

In 2023, studio head Neil Drakmann claimed that the team had completed Uncharted's story and decided to move on, but as early as 2022, Naughty Dog recruiting manager Christine-Marie Drake McBrarty mentioned team building not only for new projects, but also for the development of Uncharted's heritage.
