Nintendo has quietly rolled out patch 4.0.1 for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe!

Just last month, we were excited about the massive 4.0.0 update, with the enhanced graphics and optimization for the Switch 2, and today we've got a new "rubber", and there's no new tracks or characters, but the design has fixed a few nasty bugs.

What's been fixed:

The Switch 2 had too many boxes of items and obstacles on the tracks because of an error, and now the balance in network and local racing is completely identical to the original!

🔹 Fixed the multiplayer, removed the bug that prevented the second player from choosing a profile when racing together.

On Wii Rainbow Road on Switch 2, Star Bits is no longer missing.

Improved stability, improved takeoffs under specific conditions.

The patch is now available for download, so we're updating and pulling in the races! #game
