Sony can get the actual exclusivity for the AMD RDNA 5 architecture among portable gaming devices.

According to Richard Lidbetter of Digital Foundry, behind-the-scenes information is being discussed that the future PlayStation could be the only device in its class with a specialized chip on the RDNA 5 architecture.

And it's probably not an exclusive agreement between Sony and AMD. As previously reported by the KeplerL2 insider, AMD is no longer interested in developing special processors for niche devices if the manufacturer can't guarantee enough orders.

As a result, Sony, with its potential sales volumes, may find itself in a privileged position, while the creators of Steam Deck 2 and other portable PCs will have to look for alternative solutions.

It's just a rumor, though. #game #Steam
