End of Abyss “how creepy as hell” and with “serious combat” – the first impressions of journalists
End of Abyss is an isometric twin-stick horror metroidvania from the former Little Nightmares developers, and IGN journalists shared their impressions of the demo:
• First of all, this is a complex metroidvania - the opponents are strong, there are few resources, the bosses are dangerous, the environment is dark and creepy.
• Basic combat gameplay - typical of twin-stick shooters. The character has two guns: a pistol with endless ammo but a long reload time;and something second - for example, a shotgun, but with limited ammunition.
• To survive in an abandoned complex, you will have to build strategies. For example, luring out zombie-like opponents one by one and shooting them.
• It is also very beautiful. Here, not only Unreal Engine 5 squeezes out the graphics, but the design of the locations itself is disturbing and creepy, you just want to take a screenshot.
• Ordinary monsters are zombie-like, but the bosses are already creative. In the demo there was only one, a multi-legged creature that looked like a larva made of human body parts.
• Not only location design, but also sound design plays into the atmosphere.
In general, the former authors of Little Nightmares seem to be preparing another masterpiece. We'll find out on October 1st – when the game will be released on
#PS5 and other platforms.
