Nintendo seems to be banning publishers from releasing games for the Switch 2 on full-size cartridges if they were originally released in Game-Key Card format.
According to retailers, Nintendo has a special rule that prevents publishers from later changing the format of physical editions.
Recall that the Game-Key Card actually serves as the key to downloading the game, whereas a regular cartridge contains most of the game data and does not require downloading the entire game from the Internet.
The store later clarified that Nintendo had certain reasons for such a restriction and that the company was not deliberately trying to interfere with the publishers.
There is no official confirmation of such a restriction from Nintendo yet.
