The game developer Future? No Thanks! offers to return the money to the players after it was discovered that the project used artificial intelligence.

The situation was particularly ironic, as the game's creator, Paolo Pedercini, known as Molleindustria, had previously called AI a techno-fascist, anti-human and anti-artistic project.

The developer himself claims that the game wasn't entirely created with AI. The graphics, text, and sound were made without neural networks, and about 99% of the code was written before available AI tools for programming appeared.

The main cause of the scandal was the voice of the characters, generated by AI. Pedercini has already replaced it with real actors' recordings, although he believes that the original voices better conveyed the satirical nature of the game.
