Nintendo Switch 2 Lite rumors: Samsung is preparing a new chip!
Although the Nintendo Switch 2 has only just begun its lifecycle, the first rumors about a possible portable version of the console - the Switch 2 Lite - have already surfaced online.
Secret chip: According to a source on Nintendo Patents Watch, Samsung is currently working on a new 8LPU+ process that is expected to help make the Nvidia processors on which the Switch 2 is based more compact and powerful, while reducing their power consumption.
Less and more energy efficient: It is reported that the new process will increase productivity by 12%, reduce energy consumption by 15% and reduce chip area by 8%.
Cheaper for gamers: Given the price of the Switch 2, the port version without a dock station will be a great support for anyone who wants to play new exclusive and multiplatform games.
Generation change: It's also worth noting that Nintendo plans to stop shipping the original Switch 1 to Europe by February 2027.
There's no official announcement yet, but it's expected that Samsung's chip itself will be available in December.
