Onimusha: Way of the Sword is not directly related to previous games in the series, but it will contain many references to them.

According to director Satoru Nihei, some of the new enemies are based on enemies from older units.The developers took familiar elements and reworked them for the new Gemma demons.

However, all enemies in Way of the Sword are considered new, even if they visually or mechanically resemble creatures from Onimusha: Warlords and other games in the series.

The release will take place on September 4, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2 and PC. #game #PC
