Serious Sam: The Second Encounter or Cool Sam: The Second Coming.The shooter is straight from 2002 and, as Wikipedia reports, the game is not the second numbered game in the series, but a continuation and independent addition.

It just so happened that Duke Nukem 3D and Doom passed me by as a child, but Cool Sam compensated for all this - driving gameplay, beautiful locations and a charismatic protagonist.The enemies are memorable and many of them have become a feature of the series, like Sam’s phrases - I’m here, headless freaks

I remember going to the other end of town to pick up this game, but alas, this part or the expansion ended with Sam for me, the next games didn’t grab me as much, maybe the series slipped, or maybe my preferences changed with age.
