The journalists spent several hours in the multiplayer game Gears of War: E-Day.
Horde Siege new PvE for 12 people, three squads of four. The teams perform tasks on a huge Cologne map, cross, roll together bosses like Corpser and Brumac, and then evacuate on a helicopter.
It's the fastest Gears in history and there's a difference of opinion: in a cooperative, the new mobility feels organically, and in a competitive mode, speed is often more important than positioning, and hiding doesn't make sense.
Competition mode Classic 4 to 4. It feels nostalgic, but the old problems are nowhere to be found: the drill still dominates, the jumps on the walls have not been completely removed, the team balance is crumbling, the players leave the matches without a penalty.
Visually and technically, no questions asked.
Beta starts on August 6th, release on October 6th on Xbox and PC.
