The new area in The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past will be noticeably more vibrant than the original game's locations and this will directly affect the quests.
Geralt will travel to Lyttelton, the birthplace of Lutyka, who will play an important role in the plot of the sequel.
The developers from Fools Theory and CD Projekt have shared some details:
▪️ NPCs will have more diverse behavior and the world will be more responsive to what's happening.
▪️ The roads are lined with carts carrying local honey beers, bees flying around the pastures, and the abundance of flowers and other small things should logically explain the layout of the region.
▪️ The quests will take into account the events in the world around them and will not exist separately from it.
▪️ Some places can be reached by different routes, and the chosen route can potentially influence the development of the task.
▪️ Flights are designed so that the player can navigate through the environment, not just the icons and interface pointers.
The developers call the world itself yet another 'quest character' and want to make nonlinearity more natural.
The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past will be released in 2027 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series and Switch 2.
