The Witcher 3 might have been a chain weapon 11 years ago, but technology didn't allow it to be implemented properly.

CD Projekt Red said that the idea of giving Geralt a chain existed during the original game's development, but due to technical difficulties it had to be abandoned.

Now, thanks to the technology created to complement The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past, the developers have finally been able to implement the idea, allowing Geralt to use the chain as a knot and also to capture and attract opponents.

The weapon also corresponds to the books of Andrzej Sapkovsky, where Geralt uses the chain quite regularly.

The CDPR added that the chain was specially created with some new enemies in addition. #game
