According to Alinea Analytics, Steam is having a record year: in the first half of 2026, games on the site generated $11.1 billion in gross revenue.
This is Steam's best result in the first six months of the year.
The growth was 14.5% by the first half of 2025.
Moreover, H1 2026 turned out to be 8% higher than even the holiday second half of 2025.
The main trend: Steam is increasingly making money not only on new releases, but also on old games.
In the first half of 2026, games of the current year accounted for only 21% of revenue, while the back catalog already brought in 79%.
