Castlevania: Belmonts Curse received the first rating Famitsu put the game at 32/40. All four reviewers rated it at 8/10.

What I liked:

It is a classic Castlevania exploration without collecting equipment and money from enemies. The game continues the plot of Castlevania III: Draculas Curse, and the story of the Belmont family and the return of familiar bosses is named one of the strengths. A great emphasis is placed on navigation using knot. They can cling to the platforms and enemies, quickly shorten the distance and immediately move on to attack. In each location there are many traps, mechanisms, and sites where knots and other abilities have to be actively used. After winning the game, the player receives Arkans, which open up new opportunities and allow access to previously inaccessible zones. The player receives their own cards and can choose their own weapons, which can be re-evaluated and re-evaluated under the name of the enemy. There are specific types of weapons and weapons that can be used to perform specific tasks. The punch helps to cope with more complex opponents. The detailed locations of Paris and Dracula's castle, as well as the music and overall atmosphere, were praised separately. The defeated bosses appear inside the Tarot cards and can talk to the player. There are difficulty settings: you can change the amount of damage received and the number of greens available.

The downside:

The game is noticeably more difficult than many of the previous installments. Even the usual enemies have to be killed longer, and the player gets damaged more often. The fights with the bosses are like the death games: until you find the right weaponry and tactics, the battles can be pretty tough. Moving the knot sometimes feels a little slow and heavy. The acrobatic sections may require precise control and be quite complex. Visually and in general style Belmont Castles Curse is closer to modern western indie games than to classical Castlevania, so this approach may not appeal to everyone. #game
