In a new big interview with IGN, Rob Nelson gave a lot of details about GTA VI. The most interesting thing is not the size of the map but how Rockstar builds the world around the player.

GTA VI develops the ideas of Red Dead Redemption 2. The game will have a huge amount of content without markers, goals and icons on the map much you'll have to find yourself while exploring the world.

Rockstar calls Leonid its largest, deepest, most densely populated and most complex world. The goal is not just to enlarge the map, but to make it live forever.

The NPCs have been given a major upgrade. They'll have a lot more differences in size and body shape, and the new system will be able to dynamically adapt animations to different characters.

The NPC reactions will be more varied. People will not always just panic and run away when they see a weapon. The player will be able to greet or provoke passers-by, and their behavior will be more highly dependent on the situation.

The world can literally distract the player from his plans. Rockstar showed the moment when Jason himself offers something to do while the player is already heading to another place. You can abandon current plans and follow this spontaneous activity.

Jason and Lucia's relationship will be dynamic, and the player can influence how close they become, and they'll still be partners, but the development of the relationship can affect the plot.

The shelters will be much more interactive and in spirit closer to RDR2 camps than conventional GTA apartments.

In addition to the usual level of search, a Criminal Profile will appear, which will take into account the player's criminal behavior more deeply than the usual stars.

Car theft will also become more complicated. Some cars will require special tools or separate hacking methods due to security systems.

The streets will be more realistic in scale and already than in GTA V, so mindlessly carrying around the city at full speed will become more difficult.

Rockstar does not specifically seek to turn GTA VI into a life simulation. Nelson noted that realism only helps the immersion until it starts to interfere with fun.

For example, the developers tested product purchases and the need to replenish Jason and Lucia's refrigerator, but rejected the system because it complicated the gameplay too much.

The scale of the project is so great that Nelson says he's not sure if there's anyone on the team who knows the game.

Initially, Rockstar also considered the four main characters at once, but eventually settled on Jason and Lucia, as it was their relationship that was best suited for the story.

In essence, Rockstar is trying to combine GTA freedom and chaos with world simulation and RDR2 spontaneous events, using the capabilities of the current generation of consoles. #game
