The MP1st journalists played Control Resonant and were satisfied: despite the switch from shooter to full-fledged action with an emphasis on close combat, the game still feels like Remedy with a signature atmosphere, quirks, and surreal setting.

The main character is now Dylan Faden, who first gets a new Aberrant weapon that can change shape to sword, club, hammer, and other variants. New forms are revealed throughout the game and through a tree of skills, and different types of weapons are more effective against certain opponents.

In a piece that was shown to journalists, Manhattan was infected with a mysterious mold that, after entering the body, subdues the human mind.

The Collective's boss also showed a huge mass of deformed flesh with tentacles. The fight consists of three phases and takes place inside a gravitational anomaly, so you have to fight not only on the floor, but also on the walls and ceiling.

While it was not easy for the developer to beat the boss during the demonstration, Remedy also showed an extended Assist Mode, which allows you to change various complexity parameters separately, up to and including immortality.

The MP1st also independently tested the demo version and noted that the combat system feels good and the movement is very smooth. Dylan gives the impression of an interesting antihero, while Jesse now plays the role of the mysterious director of the FBC, operating outside the usual bureau protocols.

Control Resonant is coming out on September 24, 2026. #game #shooter
