Bayonetta creator Hideaki Kamiya is afraid to play the new Resident Evil parts.

Japanese game designer Hideaki Kamiya believes that modern versions of Resident Evil are extremely scary games that people far from the horror genre will either find extremely difficult or impossible to play.

According to Kami, the creators of Resident Evil from Capcom are so used to their work that they can no longer perceive it from the outside and thus do not understand how terrible the games are.

I think the Resident Evil developers at Capcom have long lost the ability to feel how terrible games they make. I'm not even kidding.

This year's Resident Evil Requiem was never finished because it seemed too scary and creepy.

Because I was the head of development for the original Resident Evil 2, I was very interested in seeing how my character was doing.

As a possible way out of the crisis, Camia suggested adding some gameplay settings to soften some elements of the new Resident Evil game, such as making opponents' models less scary, putting paper bags on their heads, reducing the amount of blood or slightly adjusting the lighting to make the atmosphere less oppressive.

It's interesting that the role of the game director of the original Resident Evil 2 was partly due to his dislike of horror films. Producer and game designer Shinji Mikami thought that a person far from the horror genre would be able to bring a unique vision to the project, so he commissioned the work on the game specifically for Kamiya.

Hideaki Kamiya is currently working on a sequel to the Okami adventure game, which he conceived almost 20 years ago, developed by his new studio CLOVERS with the financial support of Capcom.
